How much rain did you get this year? Heavy rains can move soil and nutrients within fields and into nearby watercourses. Join staff from the GRCA and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), as well as local producers, who can provide insight and practical information on how to build soil resilience and keep soil in place. Topics include a recap of significant local rainfall events and their impacts, water quality trends in the Grand River and Lake Erie, improving soil resilience through best management practices, and resources available to help farmers manage heavy rainfalls. This workshop will be held at the St. Jacobs Lions Hall.
Certified crop advisors can receive three continuing education units (CEUs) through participation in this workshop. To register, email ruralwater@grandriver.ca or call Anne Loeffler at 1-866-900-4722 x2242.
