Canoeing is a great way to experience nature and get some exercise. Join a paddling instructor in this 2 hour session to learn and practice canoe safety, paddle strokes and basic manoeuvres. This program is for new paddlers or paddlers who would like to refresh their skills and get some help with their strokes. Paddles and other equipment supplied. Register with a partner or by yourself. Individuals will be paired up. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that can get wet. Children must be over the age of 10 and accompanied by an adult.
The cost is $25 per person. Non-Grand River Parks Membership holders must also pay park admission at the gatehouse. Program fee includes a 2 hour canoe rental, life jacket, paddle and basic instruction to get you feeling comfortable in a canoe. Program fees also include HST. Refunds will only be provided if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
Plan to arrive early to pick up your up your paddle and life jacket at the gate house. Please meet canoe staff and pick up your canoe at the beach at 10:00 a.m.
