Join us on Saturday, April 27 at the Guelph Lake Rotary Forest for the annual community Earth Day tree planting event.
This is the 12th (and 2nd last) year of the Guelph Lake Rotary Forest planting event. The Rotary Forest is a joint venture with the Guelph Rotary Club to establish 40 hectares of community planted forest at Guelph Lake Park. This event takes place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features many family activities, such as live music, a birds of prey demonstration and a visit from the BIObus (a mobile research unit from the University of Guelph).
Be sure to bring your family and friends. Shovels will be provided, although you are welcome to bring pint-sized ones for the kids. Dress for the weather, including gloves and footwear suitable for digging.
Hop on a shuttle bus from downtown Guelph or park at nearby Lakeside Church 7654 Conservation Road, where a free shuttle will take you to the planting site. The Rotary Forest has been planted entirely by the community. See poster of event below (pdf) for additional details.
