As autumn approaches and with the nesting season done, birds of prey begin their annual migration south. Well adapted to soaring on rising air, hawks, eagles and vultures seemingly float in the daytime sky in their own distinctive pattern while simultaneously searching for tiny rodents or carrion hidden below on the ground. We’ll provide the binoculars and with the help of our staff, we’ll search the horizon for birds of prey and other feathered migrants. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult and wear appropriate footwear – we’ll be off the trails. Please meet at the Shade's Mills Nature Centre.
